Barb Wire, True Romance, Mr Majestyk

Barb_wire_poster

The families of the writers of Casablanca should sue the writer of Barb Wire. The movie steals every plot point from that film. Still, it's a fun movie that wallows in it's cheesy B-movieness. 3/5

True_romance_poster

I didn't realize how much I love True Romance. It's probably Tarantino's best screenplay and easily the best thing Tony Scott has ever done. 4.5/5

Here is the set up for Mr. Majestyk. A watermelon farmer hires Mexican migrant workers to harvest his melons. Some white cowboy doesn't like that so he brings in white people to harvest Majestyk's melons. Majestyk assults the cowboy. The police arrest Majestyk and put him jail with one of the mafia's top hitmen. When the mob tries to break their guy out of jail, Majestyk kidnaps him and holds him for ransom to get the charges dropped. When taking the mob guy to the police he escapes and now is after Majestyk. That's crazy Simpson's level of convoluted to start a story. 2/5

Beverly Hills Cop, Beverly Hills Cop II, Role Models

Beverly_hills_cop

Beverly Hills Cop holds up incredibly well. I'm very surprised at how much I still enjoyed the film. 3.75/5

Beverly_hills_cop_ii

Beverly Hills Cop II on the hand, doesn't hold up well at all. What's surprising is how long Tony Scott has been doing the glossy filmmaking. Visually, it's a bit ahead of its time. 2.5/5

Role_models-poster

I didn't remember Role Models being as funny as it is. Upon a second viewing, I see myself watching over and over again. 3.75/5

Unstoppable, 13, The Town

Unstoppable_poster

Unstoppable feels like a Tony Scott film from the 90's that didn't get used. An entertaining time waster but not by much. 3.25/5

13-thirteen

13 is a fun remake of French film from 5 years ago. Same director and basically the same script.Really good. 4/5

The-town-poster

The Town was ok. I didn't love it like a lot of people have. Jeremy Renner was freaking great and should win a Supporting Oscar. 3.5/5

Micmacs, Cracks, Crimson Tide

Micmacs-poster_1

Micmacs is from the director of Amelie. Just as quirky and charming as that film but with more of a political slant. 3.75/5

Cracks_poster

Cracks is like Dead Poets Society in reverse. Instead of everyone loving the teacher, she starts loved but ends hates. Very dark and Eva Green really delivers. 4/5

Crimson_tide

Crimson Tide isn't perfect but it does deliver some amazing tension keeps you isolated through the whole film. One of Tony Scott's best film and Hackman is outstanding as the sub captain. 4/5
