Beverly Hills Cop, Beverly Hills Cop II, Role Models

Beverly_hills_cop

Beverly Hills Cop holds up incredibly well. I'm very surprised at how much I still enjoyed the film. 3.75/5

Beverly Hills Cop II on the hand, doesn't hold up well at all. What's surprising is how long Tony Scott has been doing the glossy filmmaking. Visually, it's a bit ahead of its time. 2.5/5

I didn't remember Role Models being as funny as it is. Upon a second viewing, I see myself watching over and over again. 3.75/5

Weekend Viewing

Knifeedge

The director of Waxworks returns with a new film, Knife Edge. It's a shame he didn't stay away longer. Weak story isn't helped by some of the worst dialog ever put to film. 1/5

Devil7fces

It's labeled a giallo. I'm guessing since The Devil has Seven Faces is from the early 70's and Italian, it got lumped into that group. It has nothing in common with the giallo genre and it's quite boring. 2/5

Realityprohibited

Russian sci-fi film. If you liked Daywatch, you'll probably enjoy Reality Prohibited. It's not great but it does have some nice moment. 3/5

Atomikcircus

Atomik Circus is bizarre French film about white trash that gets invaded by aliens. It's crazy frenetic pace reminded me of early Peter Jackson. Well worth checking out. 3.5/5

Holy-mountain

When they say, "They don't make them like this anymore." They meant The Holy Mountain. It has the odd configuration of random images ever put to screen. You never know what you'll get from one scene to the next. 4/5

Shrek is still really enjoyable. The animation is starting to look dated but the script is fun and clever. 4/5
